    Black Spider

BLACK SPIDER is set on the coast of France during World War 2 but there is very little fighting; it’s more about the mischief that Peter and young Mark get into. The emphasis is on doing good to others, as you would like have done to yourself. During World War 2, a Japanese submarine was sighted in the Auckland harbour. On Waiake Island Harley and his friends pretend they are the army lookout protecting New Zealand. This setting becomes the basis for Black Spider.  Harley incorporated the activities and mischief he and his friends got up to in the background for Black Spider. This book was originally written for his own children.
