    Tangle

TANGLE. This story describes life in a retirement village by the sea in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. It includes drama, romance and lively debates by the residents about a number of important life issues. Life at Newlands is never dull. “John Sturt is one of the most interesting – and interested – people I know. Which is why I’m delighted he’s authored this novel. ‘Tangle’ is a darn good yarn. And I would never have guessed that life in a retirement village could be so suspenseful.” – John Cooney, Editor-at-large, Grapevine Magazine.

      Celebrating Service

CELEBRATING SERVICE: Loving and Serving our Neighbour. Serving seems a very out-dated concept and incompatible with today’s me-centered culture. But service is at the heart of the Christians message and as followers of Jesus we should not only understand whatbit is to be a servant but also allow the principle of servanthood to permeate all aspects of our life and relationships. In Celebrating Service, John and Agnes Sturt look mat the principle of service, using the Bible as their model and contrasting the Christian value system with that of the world.

        Created For Intimacy

CREATED FOR INTIMACY: Discovering Intimacy with Yourself, Others and God. ‘In our materialistic society there is a temptation to love things and use people. Friendship and intimacy only become priorities when we love people and use things,’ write the authors. ‘If you are interested in how to be close to another person, whether you are single or married, this book may help you. Experiencing human intimacy prepares us for intimacy with God, and intimacy with Him transforms human relationships.’ Created for Intimacy is a practical workbook, with questions and exercises at the end of each chapter on the issues raised, that can be used on your own, with another or in a group.

              Mentoring For Marriage

MENTORING FOR MARRIAGE: A resource manual for Pastors, Counsellors and Couples distills the practical wisdom gleaned by John and Agnes Sturt from decades of premarital counselling. This makes it a must-have resource for every pastor or counsellor who works with engaged couples. Whether the individuals involved are marrying for the first time or the second, this insightful book will help to prepare them for the journey ahead. Each chapter concludes with a helpful summary along with discussion questions and homework assignments. The book could be read profitably by any engaged couple on their own, but ideally an experienced mentor should set up several sessions with them to work through each chapter. This up-to-date manual by two of New Zealand’s best-known counsellors teaches principles that apply to marriages the world over.
