Beth Walker// Committee Member & Archivist
BETH WALKER lived in Ashburton, Balclutha, Dunedin and Christchurch and then moved to Auckland in 1972. After moving around several suburbs she became a “westie”. She has also had a variety of jobs, including plant nurseries, nurse aiding, factories, shearing gangs, voluntary social work and live-in situations. Beth is a founder member of NZ Christian Writers and joined the committee in 1991. Soon she ran the sales table at workshops and became the archivist. In January 1995, Beth helped launch the Christchurch group, then began leading the new West Auckland group. Thanks largely to NZ Christian Writers, Beth likes writing in different genres, mostly creative poetry, short stories, analogies and devotions. She enjoyed helping produce the West Auckland group’s anthology, West Words. Beth’s biggest writing challenge is finding time and space to work on her autobiography.
