IN THE STILLNESS: An Anthology of devotions by Guild members is a collection of the 41 devotions by 19 members who entered in the New Zealand Christian Writers Guild 30th Anniversary writers’ competition. The NZCWG was formed in Auckland in 1983, after participants in a week-long writers school agreed on the need for ongoing contact and encouragement. It aims to help Christians write more effectively, sharpening their skills for use as God directs in both the secular and religious media. Members from beginners to professionals are drawn from throughout New Zealand. Services include a bimonthly magazine, regular workshops, regional writers’ groups, a postal lending library, home study courses and a website.
