But tragedy strikes, and bullied by Georgie’s brother Hugh, Jack runs away. He finds his mother’s family but is rejected, so makes his way to South Canterbury where he finds work on a sheep farm. After some amazing adventures tragedy strikes again, and this time Jack’s life hangs in the balance. This is a story of life in New Zealand during the Great Depression of the 1930’s.
